Jaco Beach, located in the Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. Known as the most developed beach town in the area, it offers all types of public services, banking, supermarkets, hardware stores, sport boutiques and restaurants. Its proximity to national parks, popular surf beaches and outdoor sports has drawn many international visitors and created a major economical boom for housing and resort projects.
Jaco beach, is one of the closest beaches to San José, is located in the Central Pacific Coastal region. From San José, take the Interamericana Highway North (known as the Pista to San Ramón) to Manolo´s Cruce to Atenas, about 7 miles past the airport. Get off the Interamericana North and take the road into Atenas. Follow it all the way into San Mateo - Orotina. At the end of the road past Orotina, take the highway to Puerto Caldera for approximaltey 5 miles, then get off the Caldera Highway and take the Costanera exit to Jacó and Quepos. Once you get on the Costanera Highway, it´s a 30-minute drive to Jacó.

Costa Rica Public Bus Transportation is probably the least expensive way you can travel from one destination to the other, however it is not always comfortable neither safe. Busses are usually not air-conditioned and you should take care that your belongings are safe.
There are a few companies servicing Jaco Beach daily from San Jose, Garabito Transports and other companies depart from the down town San Jose, look for the Coca Cola Bus Stations. Busses leave San Jose to Jaco about every two hours, try to get the direct bus, which avoids stopping in every town on the way, thus making the way a bit faster and easy.
